A strong presence in the office of the General Counsel will always be important. Beyond legal expertise, though, lawyers who understand and have perspective on broader business issues can be more valuable to their clients. And that perspective can come most reliably from discussions with a wide array of business leaders.
Many lawyers have not capitalized on these relationships. It’s easy to understand why.
• They don’t feel they have legitimate reasons to approach the business beyond the GC.
• They’re uncomfortable with conversations outside their areas of expertise.
• They fear damaging the GC relationships by appearing to go around them.
In this webinar, we’ll present specific actions that lawyers can take to overcome these obstacles. We’ll cover the following:
• Why these additional relationships are important to the firm and to your clients.
• What the business would hope to achieve in meetings with law firms.
• Asking for the meeting.
• Planning relevant, client-centric content for the meeting.
