In a collaboration between Primerus’ International Practice Committee and Labor and Employment Practice Group, this program will discuss how organizations can protect their intellectual property in jurisdictions with varying laws, including:
1. Basic IP law in various countries and states
2. Enforceability of non-competes and anticipated trends
3. Strategies for protecting IP in multiple jurisdictions
Jan Dop is a partner at Russell Advocaten B.V. His practice areas are corporate, employment, and real estate law. His clients range from national companies to international stock exchange listed companies. He often advises companies and key employees in, inter alia, the retail and construction sector on corporate, commercial, and employment matters, such as corporate restructuring, dismissals, corporate governance, and M&A. He is also an experienced boardroom counsellor.
Mark Warzecha is the director of Widerman Malek, P.L.’s intellectual property litigation department. Mark focuses his practice exclusively in the areas of intellectual property prosecution and litigation. Mark practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to prosecute trademark applications, including prosecuting and defending opposition and cancellation proceedings. He appears in District Courts nationwide to enforce and defend cases involving trademark and patent infringement, unfair competition, domain name disputes, misappropriation, and counterfeiting. Mark also prosecutes and defends Uniform Domain Name Disputes.
