Brenton Urick is a labor and employment associate located in Barton’s Nashville office.
Brenton’s focus is on wage and hour litigation and advice and counseling. He maintains a wide range of litigation knowledge including discovery, motions for summary judgment, injunction hearings and appellate proceedings. Brenton is highly involved in the Barton L&E Knowledge Management program.
Brenton has extensive experience as in-house counsel for several healthcare-related companies in Nashville where he worked on risk management systems, advised on risk mitigation strategies, process improvement, and strategies for risk reduction. During this time, he also gained significant experience with the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records regulations – 42 CFR Part 2.
By applying his in-house counsel knowledge, Brenton provides a unique perspective as to how labor and employment best practices can impact companies, and by extension, his clients.
Brenton earned his J. D. from University of Pittsburgh School of Law where he was research editor for the Journal of Technology Law and Policy. His undergraduate degree is from Syracuse University where he earned a B.S., magna cum laude.
