John Crutcher is a business transactions attorney who advises clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities. As counselor to private equity funds, emerging and established businesses, John draws on his decades of experience as both a lawyer and businessman to provide practical and effective guidance on contractual relationships with critical suppliers and customers, corporate governance, joint ventures and corporate partnerships.
John’s practice has spanned a broad arena in both geography and application. He has practiced in New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Silicon Valley. This exposure provides valuable insight into these markets and their customs and practices for finance, venture investment, technology transactions, and trans-jurisdictional transactions.
From an industry perspective, John also incorporates his experience operating businesses including a San Francisco tech company and others in international trade, agriculture, and rural energy. John provides clients with a skilled and sympathetic mindset that appreciates the underlying issues of many businesses.
When John is not on land working hard for clients, he can be found on the water. He is a US National Champion rower with two Gold, one Silver and one Bronze medal and has won Offshore Sailing races in Bermuda, Hainan and Manila.
Prior to joining Barton, John was with at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York and at O’Melveny & Myers LLP in their New York, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Silicon Valley offices.
