David Crane

David Crane is a valuable member of the Property team at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers and is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

He works across domestic, government and commercial property law.

David has a deep knowledge of and experience in acting for the Australian Government on advice and transactional work, both national and internationally for numerous government departments and semi-government agencies. This has included advising on Centrelink premises leasing Australia-wide and documenting numerous embassy and consular premises world-wide.

He has advised the Big 4 Australian banks on all aspects of their branch leasing. Optus, Hutchison and Vodafone all used his services and skills on their national mobile telecommunications base station rollouts as have a range of major institutions both as landlord and tenant on landmark Agreements for Lease.

David has advised and represented institutional investors, universities, foreign entities and a range of developers acquiring and disposing of commercial, industrial and retail properties.

• David Crane joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in July 2024.
• David joined Eakin McCaffery Cox Lawyers as a partner in October 2023 and served as Managing Partner to that firm between March 2024  – June 2024.
• David served at MinterEllison for 42 years (July 1979 to November 2021), 38 of them as a partner.
• He was admitted as a Solicitor on 1 July 1979.
• He obtained a Bachelor of Economics (Sydney) in 1976 and a Bachelor of Laws (Sydney) in 1978.
• David has been regularly recognised in Doyle’s Guide Leading Property & Real Estate Lawyers in NSW and ACT.
