Kate Latham is one of the key lawyers in Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers’ Port Stephens office and frequently travels to Newcastle to service her clients.
Kate has a strong interest in helping members of the community access justice. She is particularly committed to compensation law.
Kate has particular expertise in serious motor vehicle accident claims and has assisted families in recovering from the trauma associated with such claims.

Key Professional Achievements:
- Kate completed a Combined Laws Degree at the University of Newcastle achieving a Bachelor of Economics majoring in Money and Banking and Bachelor of Laws in 2010.
- Kate completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law and she was admitted to the legal profession in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2011.
- Kate joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in January 2010 until May 2017, when she accepted a Defendant position and worked predominantly in the motor vehicle accident space and thereafter a position in the Local Government Sector before re-joining Carroll & O’Dea in January 2020.
- Kate was appointed Senior Associate in January 2022.
