Michael Swan

Michael Swan is a Senior Associate in the Compensation Law Team at Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers and is based in the firm’s Sydney office.

Michael has extensive experience in inquests & inquiries, medical negligence claims and mediation. He also brings a range of experience in complex and catastrophic civil litigation matters to the team.

Michael has a keen interest in health law and medico-legal issues. Prior to becoming a solicitor, he was a clinical nurse specialist in the emergency department at Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

• Michael joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in August 2024.
• He is currently undertaking a Master of Health Law degree at the University of Sydney.
• Michael was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and High Court of Australia in 2002.
• He completed a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at University of NSW in 2001.
• Michael completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of Sydney in 1992.
