Shauncey Hunter Ridgeway

Shauncey Hunter Ridgeway is an associate in Christian & Small’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group located in the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi office. She focuses her practice on Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights, representing lenders and other financial institutions in connection with bankruptcy matters and adversary proceedings, defense against lender liability and related claims, and other litigation and transactional matters concerning real and personal property rights, contract enforcement, and contract modification. Shauncey strives to provide her clients with value-driven, quality representation tailored to the personal and strategic needs of each her clients’ matters.

Outside of her practice, Shauncey is an active volunteer with Mississippi College School of Law’s Moot Court Board, on which she served as the Internal Competition Editor during her time as a student. Shauncey has since coached two award-winning teams for the American Bankruptcy Institute’s National Duberstein Moot Court Competition.

Prior to formally beginning her law career, Shauncey gained valuable legal experience working as a student attorney in the Adoption Clinic at the Mississippi College School of Law by preparing adoption petitions and entries of appearance, briefing families on the adoption process, representing families at adoption hearings, preparing and obtaining final decrees of adoption, and finalizing vital records for the adoptive children. This experience imparted the importance of establishing effective client communication and ensuring that the needs of the client are met for the duration of the attorney-client relationship.
