Ms. Blumkin became Of Counsel to Coughlin & Gerhart, LLP in 2017 where she focuses her practice in the areas of Wills, Trusts and Estate Planning, Elder Law, Probate & Estate Administration. A graduate of Emory University School of Law, Ms. Blumkin has been practicing law in Ithaca for over 30 years. She established her own firm in 1991, which later became Blumkin & Finlay, LLP, when Marcie A. Finlay joined the firm, and subsequently became Blumkin, Finlay & Bixler, LLP when Elizabeth Bixler joined the firm as well. Ms. Blumkin has taught at Cornell Law School, both in the Cornell Legal Aid Clinic and as an adjunct professor of Estate Planning.
Ms. Blumkin is very active in the community, having served on numerous boards, including Foodnet, Hospicare, Tompkins Charitable Gift Fund (past president), Lifelong (past Secretary and HICAP counselor), and City of Ithaca Board of Zoning Appeals (past president). She currently serves as an active board member of Temple Beth-El Sisterhood. She is a member of the New York State and Tompkins County Bar Associations.
