Jena Smith is Of Counsel with Degan, Blanchard & Nash.
Ms. Smith is a native New Orleanian who graduated from Louisiana State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in 1993. She then attended Tulane School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude with a Juris Doctor.
Ms. Smith's practice is currently focused on civil litigation, primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, insurance defense, bankruptcy, employment and general products liability. During her career, Ms. Smith has had trial experience in front of both federal and state courts. She has successfully arbitrated a number of matters, including, most recently, an employment dispute arising under Title VII and, most notably, a contract dispute that was heard before the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), in London, England.
Ms. Smith is involved in several professional and civic organizations. She currently serves as a Board Member for Raintree Children and Family Services, a non-profit social service organization which has served the Greater New Orleans area since 1926. She has also served on the Board of the Women’s Business Enterprise Council South (WBEC South), a non-profit organization with a mission to certify bona fide women-owned businesses and to promote the activities directed at the development, establishment, expansion and encouragement of businesses owned by women.
