Paul R. Wegmann is Of Counsel with Degan, Blanchard & Nash in New Orleans. Mr. Wegmann graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, and earned his Juris Doctor at Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law. Mr. Wegmann attended the LSU Law Center’s Comparative Law Program at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, and the Loyola Institute of Politics.
Mr. Wegmann is admitted to practice in all state courts in Louisiana and in federal court at the U.S. Eastern District of Louisiana, and he is a member of the New Orleans Bar Association.
Since joining the Louisiana State Bar Association in 1997, Mr. Wegmann has represented clients in product liability, insurance defense and coverage, general commercial and corporate defense practice with a focus on medical devices, pharmaceutical, construction, property, casualty, and insurance litigation. He has guided clients on e-discovery issues in large scale mass tort litigation, involving intricate discovery and data challenges relating to Electronically Stored Information (ESI) and document preservation. In keeping with the fact that the handling of electronically stored evidence has become an everyday aspect of litigation and compliance, Mr. Wegmann has participated in the Sedona Conference’s yearly global events dedicated to exploring data, cyber and privacy law developments.
