As a member of Lynn Jackson’s litigation and business law practice groups, Jeff has an active practice in all types of business matters and commercial litigation matters. His commercial litigation practice encompasses a wide range of areas including handling administrative claims, arbitration matters, real estate disputes, shareholder disputes, business disputes, breach of contract claims and all types of construction claims, including lien enforcement. Whatever the type of litigation, Jeff brings a calming influence and well-reasoned advice to the often stressful litigation process. He closely advises his clients throughout litigation taking into account all factors, so as to allow his client to make the best decision with the ultimate goal of achieving the best result.
Jeff’s background in the hard sciences, including a Masters of Chemistry degree from the University of Nebraska, make him uniquely qualified to provide legal services in the areas of environmental law and oil and gas mineral rights. Jeff is able to utilize this background and provide unique insight when providing legal advice in these areas. He also has extensive experience representing banks and creditors with commercial foreclosures and borrower workouts. Jeff has worked closely with both banks and borrowers to come up with reasonable and cost effective solutions in these difficult matters. When reasonable solutions cannot be reached; he has litigated a number of complicated foreclosures successfully for his clients.
As part of his business practice, Jeff also works with small start-up businesses as well as larger and more established business to offer a variety of legal services. This includes assisting with corporate formations, corporate acquisitions and day-to-day legal advice to help his business clients make the best decisions for their needs.
When not working for his clients, Jeff, who grew up in Spearfish, SD, enjoys spending time with his wife Kate and daughter Cinnamon in beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota.
