John Frederickson was born and raised in South Dakota, and has been practicing law in South Dakota for over 30 years. He specializes in real estate development, business and corporate formation, and estate planning. He also routinely assists clients with issues involving natural resources and issues involving governmental entities and municipalities. John is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in South Dakota.
John obtained his undergraduate degree in geography from South Dakota State University and worked as the Director of the Exploration Mining Program for the State of South Dakota. At the age of 36, John decided to go to law school at the University of South Dakota, graduating from there in 1989. He established his own law practice in Deadwood, South Dakota, after graduation and joined Lynn Jackson in 2021.
John has served as a Commissioner for the State Bar of South Dakota, and is a member of the local Elks Club and the Lawrence County Timber Committee. He serves on his church counsel and was instrumental in planning and installing the Spearfish City Park.
John and his wife have three grown children. He enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.
