Beginning in May of 1979, Miles served as an assistant attorney general for the State of South Dakota until he entered into private practice. Since 1982, Miles has represented people organizing and structuring business entities, selling, purchasing and reorganizing businesses, planning business successions and handling ongoing entity legal requirements. Miles joined Lynn, Jackson, Shultz & Lebrun, P.C. in 2007. His clients operate businesses encompassing agriculture, construction, manufacturing, retail, professional practices, services, real estate, consulting, utilities and other industries, as well as not-for-profit entities.
Clients benefit from the substantial experience Miles brings to a broad range of real estate, financial and commercial transactions. His estate planning practice includes drafting Wills, Trusts and Powers of Attorneys.
Miles has also provided a broad range of legal services to developers of renewable energy projects, particularly in the wind energy sector. He is often called upon to provide legal opinions on commercial, finance, real estate, energy and other transactions.
