Richard has been practicing law for 36 years. Richard takes a prophylactic approach with his clients in an effort to avoid expensive legal pitfalls. To this end, he counsels closely held companies on a myriad of issues that confront small to midsize businesses on a daily basis. Richard has also represented banks and other commercial and asset based lenders in both litigation and lending transactions. Over the years, Richard has successfully represented clients in complex commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes, real estate matters, construction claims, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, general contract matters and matters seeking equitable relief. Prior to rejoining the firm full time in October 2010, Richard spent 10 years as Of Counsel to Mandelbaum Barrett and as General Counsel to a trade finance company that factored its clients’ accounts receivables and financed both domestically and internationally, their purchases of pre-sold inventory. In his capacity as General Counsel, Richard was responsible for all legal matters, including those involving financial transactions with the company’s clients, with the company’s lenders, as well as being charged with oversight of general corporate compliance.
Richard is admitted to the bars of the State of New Jersey and New York and the United States District Court for the State of New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
