Steven L. Polakoff is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Lending departments. He brings a unique background to these practice areas having been a corporate and securities attorney, an in-house counsel handling commercial real estate transactions, a real estate syndicator raising money for owners of multi-family housing, a property owner, developer, manager broker in single family and multifamily housing in Florida, publisher of Outweek Magazine, a weekly national news magazine for the gay and lesbian community, and the CEO of a small telecommunications and internet content provider. As a real estate developer Steven purchased, financed and rehabilitated apartment buildings, funded various projects using equity investments, mortgage indebtedness and construction financing and sold investment multifamily housing.
Steven concentrates his practice on commercial lending, real estate acquisitions and commercial leasing and
commercial loans on behalf of the borrower and the bank. He represents lenders, including major financial
institutions, in secured lending transactions including re-financings, construction financing and acquisition financing.
He also has experience in representing borrowers on commercial re-financings, construction financing and
acquisition financing from institutional lenders.
