I am a lawyer in the firm’s commercial and estate litigation groups. I act for plaintiffs and defendants in matters involving powers of attorney, estate and commercial disputes, as well as legal issues arising out of fiduciaries and trusts.
I have prosecuted cases in various levels of courts and jurisdictions, including the Ontario Superior and Divisional Courts, the Courts of Appeal of Ontario, British Colombia and Nunavut, and the Federal Court of Canada. I have also acted as counsel at a host of administrative tribunals including the Canada International Trade Tribunal and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. I am a member of the Bars of Ontario and Nunavut.
I am driven to assist clients from vulnerable parts of our community, ensuring that their rights are protected, and their voices heard. I have a keen interest in elder law and enjoy working with and assisting elderly clients. I also have experience with cases involving elder abuse, claims by and against estates, and trusts.
In my position as a contributing member, I provide oversight and guidance to the Will Advisory Committee, working in collaboration with Connecting Ottawa and Reach Canada. The primary focus of the Will Advisory Committee is to create a pro bono legal clinic in Ottawa that provides estate planning services to vulnerable and under-served communities.
Outside of the office, my wife and children are the center of my universe. My other passion in life is music. Together with my band members, we have performed around the world and were nominated for three Juno Awards. As a vehicle to share the impact of music with others, I am a past Director and current member of OrKidstra, a social development program that empowers children from under-serviced communities through the universal language of music.
