Partner at PGP with over 19 years of experience in advising and leading legal areas in operating companies dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Colombia and other countries. With extensive knowledge in negotiating and drafting contracts specific to the operation and production of hydrocarbons, developed in the oil, mining, energy sectors, and law firms.
Experience in mergers, acquisitions, financing, and corporate structuring in energy projects, including work on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
Her practice areas include mining energy law, international law, and commercial law.

 

PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
• Participated in the sale of oil assets in Colombia through the creation of a new corporate vehicle in Canada, to list it on the Toronto Stock Exchange and subsequently sell it. This process led to the creation of the company Parex.
• Developed Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) programs for carbon credit generation and their respective international market commercialization.
• Directed and structured technical and corporate processes for the successful bidding and awarding of exploration and exploitation contracts in Colombia with the National Hydrocarbons Agency and Ecopetrol, with support from the legal department of Omega Energy Group.
• Led due diligence processes for the acquisition of companies in the energy sector.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Led the assignment of operation contracts (mining and hydrocarbons) and defense in breach proceedings before the respective public entities, organizing information from various company departments to support the company's legal defense strategy.
• Experience in corporate structuring, estate planning, acquisitions, spin-offs, mergers of foreign and national companies in the private sector, and international financing transactions such as bond issuances and bank loans.
• Successfully directed legal defenses in ordinary and arbitration proceedings filed against operating companies.
• Represented oil and mining companies in breach of contract, assignments, extensions, and changes to contractual commitments made by public entities, achieving successful outcomes.
• Provided legal support in the issuance and international market transaction of carbon bonds.
• Acquired real estate in Louisiana, USA, for oil exploration and ethanol production projects.
• Managed international financing for investments in Colombian projects, with UBS and Bank of New York.
• Led the legal department in companies dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and minerals in Colombia and other countries.
• Legal advisory in mining energy law for the operation of oil or mining fields.
• Legal advice for gas pipeline construction, commercialization, transportation, and treatment of gas by-products.
• Legal advisory in the development of renewable energy projects, including incentives granted by law and regulations applied to the project.
