Alvin S. Nathanson practices in all areas of general law with his principal area of concentration being civil litigation. He has extensive experience in civil litigation, government contract litigation, foreclosures, commercial lease drafting, federal and state construction litigation, summary process matters and complex real estate matters.
Alvin has tried over 300 cases, both jury and non-jury, in every level of the trial courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and various federal courts and federal agencies. He has argued over 50 appellate cases in Massachusetts and various federal courts. He represents institutional and private lenders in the preparation of all mortgage documents, including title searches and the review of title abstracts. He is a member of the Bar of the U.S. Claims (First Circuit and Federal Circuit), the U.S. Claims Court, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He also sat as an arbitrator of the American Arbitration Association for commercial and construction matters; and for many years as a fee dispute arbitrator for the Massachusetts Bar Association.
Prior to joining the firm, Alvin was the senior and managing partner of Nathanson & Goldberg, P.C. for about 45 years.
