John Wise represents clients in the purchase, sale, financing, leasing, and developing of commercial and residential real property. He also handles related zoning and environmental issues and has represented clients in commercial projects such as the development and acquisition of television stations and transmission towers, automobile dealerships, hotels and motels, shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, apartment buildings, condominium projects, mobile home parks, farms, cattle ranches, restaurants, and gas stations.
Mr. Wise recently represented the owner/developer of a private school from site acquisition through the commencement of classes, including zoning issues, construction issues, and tax-exempt bond financing. He also represents clients in their out-of-state real estate transactions, bringing in local counsel when necessary.
Mr. Wise has also helped clients with a broad range of creditors’ rights matters and negotiated numerous out-of-court loan restructurings and forbearance agreements. He also has substantial experience in collection litigation in state court, federal court, and Bankruptcy Court. He represents creditors in foreclosures of commercial and residential real properties, as well as the exercise of default rights and remedies under the Uniform Commercial Code.
