Mr. Qian is managing partner of Watson and Band Law Offices in Shanghai.
Mr. Qian graduated from ERASMUS University Rotterdam Netherlands with an LLM degree. Mr. Qian became a qualified attorney at law in 2002 and was then qualified as a certified tax agent in 2005. In addition, Mr. Qian has also received the Copyright Transaction Certificate issued by Shanghai Municipal Copyright Bureau, which qualifies him as a copyright transaction broker.
Mr. Qian joined Watson & Band in 2001 and has represented clients in a large number of cases concerning the establishment of foreign funded companies by domestic and foreign investors, share transfers, restructuring, merger and acquisitions, dissolution and liquidation and bankruptcy; besides, he has also coordinated and settled various disputes, prepared relevant documents, participated in negotiations and provided legal advices regarding the application of Chinese law for clients. Mr. Qian has also acted as legal counsel for many foreign companies and their subsidiaries or affiliates in China, providing consultation services for routine issues concerning contracts, labor law and taxation. In addition, Mr. Qian is also experienced in practices involving anti-monopoly and customs supervision issues and often provides compliance training programs for domestic and foreign companies.Meanwhile, he also wrote for "Shanghai Watch" of the "International Business Law" magazine of Japan and contributed to the "Legal Practice Live Express from Shanghai" column for Japanese website Searchina with a few articles about foreign investment legal practices.
