David P. Jordan is an associate of the firm and practices in the areas of energy, public utilities, real estate, business, and finance law. He joined the firm in 2019 after graduating magna cum laude from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. While in law school, David served as a staff writer (2017-2018) and as an Outside Articles Editor (2018-2019) on the University of Hawaii Law Review. David received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for receiving the highest grades in Constitutional Law I, Real Property I, Real Property II, Second-Year Seminar, Secured Transactions, and Torts. He received two scholarships for his academic performance in law school. David completed judicial externships with the Honorable Richard R. Clifton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Honorable Kenneth J. Mansfield, Magistrate Judge of the United Stated District Court for the District of Hawaii. David completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Gary W.B. Chang of the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, State of Hawaii. In addition, David worked as a legal intern at the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission. His legal internship at the PUC was supported by funding from the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). David also worked as a legal intern at the Ulupono Initiative. Prior to attending law school and joining the firm, David worked for an international shipping agency on Guam where he oversaw liner logistics and assisted in tending to numerous vessels, including oil tankers and United States Naval Ships. David grew up in Hawaii and is a graduate of Iolani School, where he was freshman, sophomore, and senior class president. He is a proud Eagle Scout who earned the Gold Palm. He is also a National Merit Scholar. David received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. David is a member of the American Bar Association and the Hawaii State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Hawaii.
