Edmonds Full-Service Law Firm, Beresford Booth PLLC announces their support of local students through their Premier Sponsorship of Edmonds School District Scholar-Athlete scholarships. The Scholar-Athlete program honors graduating senior athletes who excel in sports and in the classroom. Four students from each Edmonds high school, two girls and two boys, are selected to be honored at the annual banquet.
"Beresford Booth is proud to celebrate and support the student-athletes of the Edmonds School District who through their focus, hard work and dedication have succeeded both on the field and in the classroom," stated Matt Cruz, lawyer and partner of Beresford Booth.
Partner Scott Burkhalter added, “The outstanding achievements of the students in our schools should be rewarded by the local community to help the students and the community achieve their potential.”
Since its inception in 2002, the program has awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships to over 200 students. In order to qualify for consideration each student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and have played in two or more sports in their senior year. Additionally, each nominee must display outstanding leadership skills and service to the community.
"This event would not happen without the support of our local business owners, community members, alumni and coaches," said Julie Stroncek, Edmonds School District Director of Athletics. She went on to say, “The opportunity to provide scholarship dollars for our greatest community resource continues to be a tremendous experience for all involved.”
