The law firm of Christian & Small LLP, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is pleased to announce that Jonathan Hooks and Jordan Wood have been elevated to partner within the firm effective Jan. 1, 2017. Hooks and Wood each have practiced with Christian & Small for a number of years and will continue to represent the firm in larger, more expansive roles.
“Both Jonathan and Jordan have demonstrated ongoing leadership and made valuable contributions throughout their respective tenures with Christian & Small. It is an honor to have them join us as partners in the firm,” Managing Partner Deborah Alley Smith said. “We anticipate they will have long and distinguished careers as nonstop advocates for our clients.”
Jonathan Hooks focuses his practice on products liability, government relations, and appellate matters. Hooks serves as chair of the firm’s governmental relations practice group and has represented political candidates in matters both political and legal. Additionally, he has advised various committees of the Alabama Legislature during that body’s annual session and served as a ballot security attorney in every Alabama statewide election since 2004.
Jordan Wood concentrates his practice in the areas of aviation, health care, insurance, liquor liability, professional liability and medical malpractice. He is also a certified ABC Board Vendor Trainer in Alabama’s Responsible Vendor Program, training restaurant employees regarding their responsibilities under liquor liability laws. Additionally, Wood was selected to join the Birmingham MS Leadership class of 2015, which raised more than $119,000 to fund programs, services and research supporting those living with multiple sclerosis.
