Collins & Lacy P.C. is pleased to announce the growth of its new public policy and consulting practice. Jon Ozmint, former director of the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC), joined the firm in February of this year and is spearheading the firm’s efforts in this new practice area. Ozmint brings broad and unique perspective to clients, having also served as Deputy Attorney General and Chief Prosecutor of the State Grand Jury, and as General Counsel for the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR).
“Under Jon’s leadership, the firm’s public policy practice has begun to take shape. We are excited about the potential that this new dimension of the firm offers our business clients,” offered Gray Culbreath, Managing Partner of Collins & Lacy.
Committed to serving businesses on a local, state and national level, Collins & Lacy has recently engaged two new clients, a national correctional health care provider and a large telecommunications company. Recently, Ozmint assisted a client in making a presentation to Dorchester County Council concerning the need for a new and larger detention facility in that county.
“We offer a working knowledge of public policy and years of practical, hands-on experience with the concerns and pressures that impact governmental decision-makers. We put that experience to work for our clients to help them make wise decisions about the investments necessary to achieve results and we assist them in crafting successful strategies for dealing with government at every level.” said Ozmint.
