Collins & Lacy P.C. is pleased to announce Rebecca K. Halberg has been appointed to the Kids’ Chance of South Carolina Board of Directors.

Kids' Chance of South Carolina, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation developed in 1992 by the S.C. Workers' Compensation Educational Association. Its purpose is to provide financial scholarships for dependents of seriously injured or deceased workers to complete their education.

“The benefits from Kids’ Chance scholarships go beyond improving individual students’ lives,” said Halberg. “Kids’ Chance graduates are working as lawyers, doctors and nurses. I look forward to helping fulfill its mission of providing scholarships to children of South Carolina workers killed or seriously injured in work-related accidents.“

Halberg is a senior associate with Collins & Lacy practicing in workers’ compensation. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Halberg’s commitment to community service was honored by the Rotary Club of Five Points in 2008 as she was awarded the Charles C. Foster Rotarian of the Year. Halberg is currently a member of the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Educational Association, South Carolina Self Insurers Association, and an alumni of Leadership Columbia.
