November 2021, Houston, Texas – Donato, Brown, Pool & Moehlmann recently completed a two and a half week long trial in Coke County, Texas. The case arose out of a breakout at a saltwater disposal well which damaged 100 acres of a 1,400 acre ranch. Bob Brown and David Brill of Donato, Brown, Pool and Moehlmann represented the operator at the time of the loss for the company Memorial Operating LLC, which is now known as Amplify Energy. The pretrial demand was in excess of $20 million, and the plaintiffs argued for damages of approximately $170 million. After two hours, the jury came back with a defense verdict.
