Fatal MoPed Accident Leads to $400,000 Settlement

Shapiro, Lewis, Appleton & Favaloro (Virginia Beach, VA) along with co-counsel William A. Coates (Roe Cassidy Coates Price, P.A. - Greenville, SC), secured a $400,000 settlement in a wrongful death case involving a fatal MoPed accident in Greenville, South Carolina. A 44-year-old woman was a passenger on a Moped when a vehicle rear-ended the Moped and killed the woman. The at-fault driver admitted that, just prior to impact, he took his eyes off the road momentarily and a state trooper later determined that the at-fault driver was traveling too fast for the conditions.

The victim’s sister served as administrator of the estate. The decedent was a disabled woman from Virginia.
