Ferris & Britton, APC is pleased to announce that attorney, Scott H. Toothacre of Toothacre & Associates, has joined our litigation team.  Scott’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation. After graduating from Western State University School of Law in 1989, he immediately began working as an associate attorney, and eventually partner, at the law firm of Toothacre & Toothacre.

While in law school, he worked at the San Diego County District Attorney’s office and was a member of Law Review and the Criminal Justice Journal. As a litigator with extensive experience in a wide variety of complex, civil business and commercial matters, he successfully tried over 30 jury trials. His ability to connect with a jury has allowed him to obtain favorable outcomes for his clients.

He has successfully argued in the California Supreme Court and the Fourth District Court of Appeals.  (See Jones v. The Lodge at Torrey Pines, (2008)) 42 Cal.4th 1158).  He has represented both employers and employees in a myriad of employment related actions.  Scott is a zealous advocate for his clients both inside and outside the courtroom.

He is also a valued advisor to many Human Resources departments and has conducted numerous work place investigations.  He regularly provides training and instruction to the managers and supervisors of his corporate clients.

Scott also serves on the board of directors for Intermountain Volunteer Fire & Rescue, and in his spare time, he enjoys fishing, riding horses, and rooting for the SDSU sports teams.  Ferris & Britton is excited to have this well-rounded trial litigator join our litigation team.
