One of the things that we as Primerus coordinators say all too often is that firms don’t utilize us or their Primerus membership to its fullest extent. We serve Primerus firms at every level from your partners to your support staff.
Primerus
Coordinators are willing to help you market your practice, build relationships and gain visibility.
Implement the Basics
There are several basics that every Primerus firm should implement and have in place. Are you using the Primerus logos on your letterhead, website, and various communications? This simple strategy shows your referral sources and clients the global reach of your firm. Are you properly tracking Primerus related referrals? Are you and your colleagues signed up for practice groups and sections? There is a list of things you should have completed that your coordinator can help you with which will increase visibility.
Strategize
Primerus membership is a platform offering you and your law firm many different resources. There is something for everyone at your firm. And, membership can be different for each firm. Primerus coordinators are responsible for different membership segments and are best positioned to help you identify the services and initiatives that will be most valuable to you. Do you have writers at the firm? Are you interested in speaking opportunities through webinars or live events? What events should you be attending? What introductions can be made? Who should be most active in Primerus from your firm? Do you have the “basics” in place to leverage your membership? What other services could you be taking advantage of? A customized strategy can be developed specifically for you and your firm to manage all the moving pieces.
Brainstorm
Once you have attained a base line level of visibility in the organization, what else can be done? Do you have creative marketing ideas you would like assistance with? Is there an article or presentation you are contemplating? Primerus can be a good sounding board to talk about your ideas and potentially give life to new initiatives. In all likelihood, your coordinator is the best place to start.
Connections
Primerus’ richest asset is the people in the organization. Information and referrals always flow more freely where a relationship exists. But there are nearly 3,000 lawyers in the organization, plus client contacts – so knowing who to meet can be challenging. Your coordinator can help you identify who you should meet, and even break the ice for you.
Prepare for Events
Eventually live, in-person events will return. Primerus conferences provide excellent networking opportunities. A little bit of preparation in advance of the event can really maximize your conference attendance experience. Meet with your coordinator in advance of events to talk about the attendance list. There may be introductions that can be made ahead of time to make connecting on site easier. Knowing who will be in attendance and who is best for you to seek out and spend time with during the conference can make a huge difference. Your coordinator will be able help you prepare.
Stay Accountable
Everyone is busy. How many items have died on your “to do” list due to inactivity? Having someone else check in can be an effective way stay on top of action items. Primerus coordinators are available to routinely check in every 90 days with members to help keep moving things forward.
