The Bennett Law Firm is pleased to announce that Peter Bennett has been named a speaker at the ABA’s Annual Meeting in San Francisco to be held Friday, August 5th from 8:30-10am.
Mr. Bennett will join the CLE presentation entitled “Minefields of the Modern Employee Handbook” where panelists will address key aspects, important issues and common pitfalls of the modern employee handbook including a discussion of misclassification, the impact of legalization of marijuana, same sex marriage/LGBT rights, expanded disability and leave rights (including paid sick leave) and the increasing need for bring-your-own device and social media policies.
The panelists will also address how to deal with and interpret the often conflicting rulings by the NLRB on wage & hour and other issues affecting employee policies in employment handbooks.
Peter Bennett, President of the firm is nationally recognized as a lawyer representing management in the field of labor and employment law, and is President of The Bennett Law Firm. He is also a leader in the bar, and currently serves as Special Advisor to the American Bar Association’s Presidential Standing Committee on American Justice System and as a Trustee of the National Judicial College, the nation’s preeminent institution for the training of the judiciary.
