Privacy Shield Ruled Invalid by CJEU in Schrems II: Where do we go from here?
Presented by: Gayle Gorvett and Ken Rashbaum
12:00 PM EDT
A few of the topics that will be discussed are as follows:
- The Court of Justice of the European Union, on July 16, invalidated the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as a mechanism for transferring personal data from the EU to the United States, a decision that greatly impacts over 5,000 entities that relied on Privacy Shield for transfers of personal data from the European Union.
- The decision potentially impacts over $7 billion in Transatlantic trade.
- This webinar will analyze the legal and business impacts of the Court’s decision, including the Court’s skeptical discussion of Standard Contractual Clauses as an alternate method of data transfer, and the practical implications and recommended next steps for organizations that are registered with the Privacy Shield Framework or work with business partners or vendors who transfer data under the Framework.
Live Interactive Q&A – Bring/Submit Your Questions
Time will be reserved to answer specific questions from attendees and we encourage those in attendance to come with questions prepared.
