Senior Vice President and Manager of Member Services for Primerus, Katie Bundyra is a native of Grand Rapids and earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and her juris doctor from Cooley Law School. She and her husband Jack have two children, Annie and Matthew, ages 6 and 3, respectively.
A: I started working at a local restaurant as a hostess as soon as I turned 16. I enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the busy restaurant and worked there well into college.
A: After passing the Michigan Bar exam, I practiced for a short period of time in family law. I quickly found that family law was not for me. Luckily, I had a friend, who introduced me to Primerus and I have been working here since 2014!
A: It is hard to pick one. Throughout my career there have been many people who have served as mentors. I try to learn from everyone I work with and use all those little tips and tricks to shape who I am professionally.
A: Treat everyone you encounter with respect and courtesy – no matter their title or position.
A: Speaking foreign languages. Polish and French are on the top of my list.
A: Being sworn into the State Bar. I always knew I didn’t really want to be in the courtroom, but this was a great accomplishment for me.
A: I think the obvious answer is a different path in the legal field. But I know I wouldn’t be as happy as I am here with my Primerus family.
A: Honestly – all of them. I was fortunate enough to have a very happy childhood filed with fond memories of family and friends.
A: Movie: “A Few Good Men.”
Book: “The Great Gatsby.”
A: Lake Michigan is my happy place.
A: I love being outdoors. I love anything from hiking and kayaking to gardening and relaxing on the beach – anything I can do with my family.
A: “Though she be but little, she is fierce!”
