On Wednesday, February 15, 2012 Russell Advocaten will host the interactive workshop "Dutch Employment Law". It will be the first workshop Russell Advocaten hosts in 2012. The course will be specifically tailored for international clients and embassies in the Netherlands and will cover the most important topics pertaining to Dutch employment law.

Russell Advocaten’s many years of experience with foreign clients, Embassies and Consulates has led them to believe there is a need for a practical and interactive introduction to Dutch employment law. This workshop will focus mainly on the major employment topics and issues.

During the workshop, specialist employment lawyers will explain the legal framework of the employment agreement in the Netherlands. Using practical examples and course material, they will identify key issues that ought to be addressed in employment agreements to prevent problems with your staff. Specialists will also outline the optimal termination of an employment agreement and how to go about when employees are ill.

The main topics to be discussed at the workshop are:

  • Employment agreement (which law applicable)
  • Duration of employment agreement
  • Payment, overtime, holidays
  • Illness of the employee
  • Termination of the employment agreement
  • Immunity of Embassies
