I would like to share, through Primerus, what our firm has been doing in the Republic of Panama through the last two decades with new developments in communications technology and its application to the services an international law firm provides.
We replace our office equipment quite often, not because of faulty performance or failure. Our policy has always been to keep abreast of the new developments in communications technology and new appliances for managing information, as well as applying new improvements to enhance the necessary discretion and confidentiality in the firm’s archives and files. What we have always been doing can be described as considering that any equipment in working condition, which we have replaced with something more effective, is never to be dealt with as trash, but of use to others.
In one of the less favored areas in the outskirts of the City of Panama, we have kept an elementary school provided with the best brands of office equipment for children and adolescents to be able to learn how to operate and to have access to information available through the internet. Furthermore and as we were aware of the fact that this school was not going to have funds for repairs, paper or day-to-day supplies, so we have kept providing those materials as well as the necessary technical support.
At the beginning of this year, we began to apply the finishing touches to our new main offices, and we have just finished replacing equipment and moving supplies so all replaced equipment and all unnecessary supplies have been delivered to the school we referred to above. Soon, perhaps, God knows if any of those kids learning now with our donations may also get the chance to work in our cutting-edge premises.
