Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
October 4-12, 2025
A Southwest rite of passage each fall, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta will light up the skies over the New Mexico capital October 4-12, coinciding with the 2025 Primerus Global Conference, October 9-11, if you want to extend your trip.
The largest balloon festival in the world, the festival marks its 53rd year in 2025 and is expected to attract more than 500 hot air balloons, a far cry from the 13 balloons that dotted the skies during the inaugural event in 1972. One of the most popular events in the American Southwest, the Balloon Fiesta can attract upward of 100,000 spectators each day to the launch field where they are provided an up-close look at takeoff procedures, while thousands more gather at landing sites all over the city to watch incoming balloons.
