About Rodolfo (Rudy) Rivera
Rodolfo "Rudy" Rivera is Chief International Counsel and Legal Hold Officer for Fidelity National Financial. His other duties include managing all Fidelity’s Immigration matters and litigation against the various companies owned by Fidelity.
Rodolfo Rivera was recruited by Fidelity in 2006 to manage its international expansion. He organized a network of attorneys in 34 countries to work in conjunction with Fidelity Underwriters to issue title policies in those countries. In 2008 he led the team that opened Fidelity National Title de Mexico which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fidelity National Financial. In 2012 he also led a team that established Fidelity's base of operations in Malta thereby allowing Fidelity to access the direct operation the title insurance market in the European Union. He currently manages a team of 5 in-house counsels and 30 outside counsels.
He is also an adjunct professor of law at Washington University School of Law St. Louis, where he teaches International Business Transactions and Negotiations.
Rodolfo Rivera holds degrees in Political Science and Spanish from Ohio Northern University as well as a law degree from St. Louis University School of Law. At St. Louis University he was Assistant Managing Editor of the Law Review. He is a sought after and regular speaker and panelist on a wide range of topics concerning Latin America, due diligence in acquiring real estate overseas, managing international litigation, and the cultural aspects of international business. Some of his articles have been published in the ACC Docket, Lawyers Weekly, and Missouri Bar publications.
Rodolfo Rivera was President of the ACC Real Estate Committee and Vice President of the ACC International Legal Affairs Committee. He currently serves as the ACC International Committee President and on the National Committee Board. In addition, he has organized and spoken on numerous ACC panels.
He was an active board member of the St. Louis ACC Chapter where he served as Secretary, Program Chair and Social Chair. In 2012 he moved to Florida and immediately became a Board Member of the North Florida ACC Chapter. He currently serves as the Communications Chair.
About Darryl Horowitt
Mr. Horowitt was admitted to practice in 1981. Prior to forming Coleman & Horowitt, LLP, he was a partner of the Fresno, California firm of Lerrigo, Nibler, Berryman, Coleman & Bennett. Prior to moving to Fresno, Mr. Horowitt was engaged in private practice in Orange County, California.
Mr. Horowitt has conducted all phases of litigation in the areas of banking, business disputes, securities fraud (class action and individual), construction, real estate, environmental, casualty insurance defense, personal injury and commercial collections, from initial client contact to settlement, mediation, arbitration and trial – court and jury (State and Federal Court) and administrative proceedings (before the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture, National Labor Relations Board, California Department of Fair Housing and Employment, Worker’s Compensation Appeals Board and Agricultural Labor Relations Board). He has also assisted in transactions, including incorporation, purchase and sale agreements, secured and unsecured transactions, and employment contracts. In the field of alternative dispute resolution, Mr. Horowitt has served as an arbitrator (for the American Arbitration Association, NASD Regulation, Inc., Better Business Bureau Dispute Resolution Center, and the Fresno and Madera County Superior Courts), mediator (privately and for the Better Business Bureau Dispute Resolution Center), special master (for Judge James Ware, United States District Court, Northern District of California) and judge pro tem (Fresno County Courts).
