Sherry is an associate in the Estate Planning and Probate group. Her law practice focuses on working with families and businesses to help them successfully navigate transitions. She strives to demystify estate planning for her clients to help them make informed decisions in selecting fiduciaries and planning for their families’ futures. Sherry also advises clients regarding business succession planning, as well as contract drafting, commercial leases, and business entity formation. In addition, she advises clients in matters involving probate and trust administration.
After graduating from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, Sherry worked as a law clerk / bailiff for King County Superior Court Judge Catherine Shaffer. While she has practiced in the areas of estate planning, probate, and business law for more than a decade, Sherry’s background also includes representing women farmers in a federal claims process with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, researching federal fishery management regulations and serving as a student law clerk at the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Before attending law school, Sherry worked as web production manager at the environmental news website, Grist.org.
Sherry enjoys sharing her experience as a practicing attorney and has presented at continuing legal education seminars for attorneys on topics that include legal ethics, client communications, and estate planning. She previously served as a board member of the Mother Attorneys Mentoring Association of Seattle, is a past chair of the King County Bar Association Solo and Small Practice Section and is a past member of the Washington State Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Section’s executive committee, where she served as the section’s web editor.
A Wisconsin native, Sherry has lived in the Pacific Northwest for more than 20 years. Sherry is married, has a middle school-aged son, two cats and a golden retriever who is a very good boy (most of the time). In her free time, Sherry enjoys being outside. She is an avid cross-country skier and, when there is not snow, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and bicycle camping.
