Stu Spodek is a seasoned healthcare attorney with nearly two decades of experience, the majority spent exclusively representing Healthcare Providers.

Stu specializes in working on behalf of Skilled Nursing Facilities in resolving Accounts Receivables issues to assure continuity of payment and reimbursement for any type of Nursing Home resident and payer class. He has handled a diverse array of proceedings and maintains an aggressive and creative approach in utilizing a broad range of legal methodologies to obtain relief for his clients, including through the use of Medicaid appeals and Fair Hearings, Mental Hygiene Law Article 81 Guardianship proceedings, patient discharge proceedings, general civil litigation/collection suits, creditor claims, estate litigation, and various other remedies. Stu further advises facilities on general corporate/contracts matters, including Admission Agreements, consents/authorizations, POA, PRI, and all related intake/transfer paperwork.

Stu has worked with Management Services Organizations, medical billing companies, health tech companies, telemedicine providers, and SaaS companies. Stu was a Partner in the Healthcare department of a mid-sized NYC law firm before transitioning to in-house roles as General Counsel for an Illinois laboratory and later for a NY-based startup lab providing COVID testing to patients on a national level via advanced software technology. While working internally for providers, Stu advised on transactional, compliance/regulatory, licensure, Revenue Cycle Management, and all operational matters. Stu’s diverse legal career has made him a well-rounded and polished advocate with a keen sense of how best to lead his clients in optimizing business objectives and mitigating risk across all their healthcare operations.
