Ms. Chauvin is Of Counsel at Degan, Blanchard & Nash, with her primary focus in appellate practice.
Before joining Degan, Blanchard & Nash, Candace focused on insurance coverage and defense and appellate practice in both the State and Federal Courts. Candace served as law clerk to Judge Fredericka Wicker, Judge Jude Gravois, and Judge Susan Chehardy of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, as well as Administrative General Counsel for the Judges of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal from 2012 until 2020.
A native of Baton Rouge, Candace graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 1998. Candace is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the St. Tammany Bar Association, and the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Candace serves by appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court as an Assistant Bar Examiner. Candace has presented or participated as a speaker in numerous legal seminars on appellate procedure as well as Professionalism.
