Allen specializes in the practice of Complex Commercial Litigation and Bankruptcy with an emphasis on Corporate Valuation (Shareholder disputes, Corporate buyouts) and other general business related matters. He represents a wide range of clients including small to medium sized professional corporations, manufacturing concerns, professional services and retail merchants.
Allen continues to advise numerous corporate clients and their employees anticipating creating new businesses, expansion of existing businesses and/or dissolution or bankruptcy. Allen has continued to be involved in various litigations involving shareholder disputes, derivative shareholder suits and commercial divorces.
Allen’s Bankruptcy practice is varied and includes advising a number of corporate clients and insurance companies with regard to contesting preference claims, challenges to proofs of claim, and contesting debtors’ attempts to limit or expunge client’s claims in pending Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 bankruptcies.
Allen continues to advise clients with regard to tortious interference with contract, alleged fraud in the negotiation and execution of a commercial transaction or other areas of unfair competition.
With regard to the area of redevelopment, Allen has been active in this area both representing landowners who contested the procedures and appropriate use of the condemnation procedure to obtain properties for private redevelopment or commercial development. In addition, he currently represents a large city who is condemning various parcels to ameliorate abandoned properties and spot blight.
