Phil’s practice focuses on commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He has experience in complex class actions, business and contract disputes, employment matters, banking litigation, title disputes, insurance matters, construction, products liability, fraud, misrepresentation and other business torts.
Phil works with the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and other community organizations to provide legal services to low-income and elderly clients on a pro bono basis. Phil personally represents several pro bono clients in litigation and family law matters. Phil is also deeply involved in his church’s community outreach activities and helped host thousands of volunteers from around the country who assisted in the rebuilding of homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
In law school, Phil distinguished himself as the Champion of the 2003-2004 Tulane Senior Trial Competition. Also, while at Tulane, he was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor society recognizing those who excel in oral and written advocacy. Before law school, Phil studied music and music business at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Following law school, he worked for four years at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Phil still plays the trumpet in his spare time, gravitating towards jazz music, which gives him a great appreciation and love of the New Orleans music scene.
