Background:

Mr. McDermott was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He attended Gonzaga University for his bachelor's degree where he majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice with a focus on Sociology. While attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law he focused on civil litigation and employment law. During law school he was active in the Employment Law Association and held internships in the King County Superior Court in Kent, Washington, the Denver City Attorney's Office, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. He is admitted to practice in the States of Colorado and Washington.
