Lane is part of the Firm’s estate planning practice group, and as one of the few Spanish-speaking attorneys in South Dakota, he also assists with the Firm’s Spanish-speaking clients. Lane is licensed to practice law in South Dakota. He joined Lynn Jackson in 2022.
Originally from Montana, Lane has lived in Rapid City since 2010. He began learning Spanish at age 10, piquing his interest in the language, and eventually majored in Spanish, along with political science at the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated magna cum laude. He also obtained a master’s degree in Iberian and Latin American studies from Notre Dame. From there, Lane went to the University of Nebraska, where he obtained his juris doctor, with distinction, and was bestowed a number of prestigious awards. During law school, Lane was a student attorney for University of Nebraska College of Law Immigration and Estate Planning Clinics and a member of the Nebraska Law Review.
Based in the Sioux Falls office, Lane focuses his practice on estate planning, as well as assisting the Firm’s Spanish-speaking clients, as he is fluent in Spanish. Lane is licensed to practice law in South Dakota.
In his spare time, Lane enjoys being active by playing racquetball, mountain biking, and running, as well as playing the piano.
