I am a corporate and commercial lawyer and divide my practice between not-for-profit and charity law and business law. I was called to the bar of Ontario in 2010 and the bar of Alberta in 2015.
Prior to joining Mann Lawyers in August of 2023, I practiced for thirteen years at a mid-sized law firm in Ottawa. I am excited to continue this practice at Mann Lawyers LLP.
In my role as Not-for-Profit and Charity Law Group Lead, I work with a variety of clients from small not-for-profits starting out to large national organizations, advising them on governance, regulatory and compliance matters, transactions and agreements of all kinds. I am happy to assist with not-for-profit incorporations and charitable registrations in addition to providing support on more complicated matters.
In my business law practice, I work with local family-owned businesses and larger organizations that operate across Ontario or Canada. I have significant experience in mergers and acquisitions and contractual matters, including having worked the purchase and sale of professional practices. I also frequently work with clients on re-organizations, regulatory and compliance matters, the regulated professions and commercial agreements.
You can reach out to me in respect of any legal issue involving a not-for-profit, charity or business.
In my personal capacity I am a director on the board of the Canadian Nurses Foundation, the board of Roger Neilson House and a director, Secretary and Chair of the Governance Committee of the Ottawa Board of Trade.
A lifelong Ottawa resident, I graduated from Carleton University with a B.A. (with distinction) in Sociology, Minor in Women’s Studies in 2001 and from the University of Ottawa with LL.B. in 2009.
I am the proud mother of two sons and two German shepherd mix mutts and can usually be found on the weekend with my hands in the garden or my nose in a book.
