Brett leads the firm’s Business Restructuring and Banking and Finance practices and relishes helping clients with the benefit of my three decades of debt-related expertise and knowhow.
The complementary nature of these practice areas means that he brings an unusually broad focus and experience to client situations, a real value-added benefit. Brett seeks deftly to balance the technical nature of any assignment with a pragmatic understanding of the commercial outcome preferred by each client.
Clients range from banks and financial institutions to insolvency and turnaround practitioners as well as corporates, boards of directors and contractual counterparties. Our experience of both creditor-led and debtor-led work provides us with great “poacher turned game-keeper” insights, with experience gained in diverse business sectors particularly real estate, retail, aviation and aerospace, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, education, telecoms, financial services and a selection of technology plays.
Our reputation is such that a significant part of our work derives from conflict and other referrals from other law firms, both domestically and internationally.
Brett keeps up to date with technical and market developments by active participation in a range of professional organisations including R3, INSOL, the Turnaround Management Association, the Insolvency Lawyers Association and the LMA whilst regularly presenting training sessions for clients on a range of relevant topics. In addition, I have contributed many articles on technical subject matter, particularly on the interaction of insolvency and intellectual property.
