Timothy Eclov has focused his practice on the defense of employers, insurers and self insured clients in workers' compensation cases since 1988. He has tried well over one hundred cases at the Office of Administrative Hearings, and argued dozens of cases before the Workers’ Compensation Court of Appeals and the Minnesota Supreme Court. As a result, he has developed a particular expertise in large exposure complex matters and in appellate practice. In addition to litigating cases, Mr. Eclov provides legal risk management advice on workers’ compensation matters to the Firm’s clients. His trial record and proficiency enables him to counsel clients on the immediate and long term effects of unique claims handling decisions, and to make recommendations on the most effective strategies to reduce exposures.
Not only active in the courtroom, Mr. Eclov lectures on workers' compensation issues such as defending permanent total disability claims, using the Permanent Treatment Parameters to reduce medical costs, and navigating the myriad of changes in workers’ compensation law at client seminars as well as at the Minnesota Institute of Legal Education. He is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review.
Mr. Eclov is admitted to practice in Minnesota federal and state courts. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association and is a Master in the Warren E. Burger Inn of Court. He has been nominated by his peers as a "Super Lawyer" in Minnesota Law & Politics on multiple occasions.
