Matt joined the firm in 2017, and he works in the firm’s real estate, tax credit financing, and corporate practice groups. Matt focuses his practice on complex commercial transactions involving the use of federal new market and historic tax credits. However, he also has experience in commercial leasing, low income housing tax credits, purchase and sale agreements, complex operating agreements, title and real estate matters, bridge and conventional lending, debt structuring, and Regulation D matters. He represents credit syndicators, banks, developers, business owners, and property owners. In particular, Matt is well versed in the historic tax credit programs in a myriad of states as well as numerous Missouri incentive programs.
Mat also has experience with renewable energy tax credits, solar and wind ground leases, and he is familiar with IRS guidance issued since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. Finally, he has provided advice in the areas of election law, banking law, and governmental-related legal matters.
Prior to joining Rosenblum Goldenhersh, P.C., Matt was a Vice President at U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation, a national tax credit equity investor and syndicator.
Matt served on the Truman State University Board of Governors from 2007 – 2015 and the St. Louis County Board of Election Commissioners from 2017 – 2021, both appointments made by the Governor of the State of Missouri and approved by the Missouri Senate. He previously clerked for the Honorable Clifford H. Ahrens of the Missouri Court of Appeals.
