Mr. Hilton believes that trial practice is the highest and most demanding calling in the practice of law. In choosing a litigation attorney, it is important to retain a skilled lawyer at the highest level of experience, professionalism and legal ethics. He has been called on to teach and lecture numerous times to other lawyers and has served on the Professionalism Faculty of the Virginia State Bar. He chooses to live in Virginia so he can bring a personal touch to every case; yet, he goes to all lengths to investigate and prosecute every case he joins.
Mr. Hilton began his law practice in 1983 as a trial lawyer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. He came to WAW in 1986 and has been listed repeatedly by Virginia Business Magazine as one of Virginia's Legal Elite and was recently named as one of the Best Lawyers in America in Medical Malpractice law. He is also recognized among the top 5% of actively practicing Virginia attorneys as a "Super Lawyer" in the area of Medical Malpractice. He is rated "AV" (highest rating) by Martindale-Hubble Legal Directory for ability and ethics.
Mr. Hilton is proud to have served as the President of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys, a statewide bar organization of over 800 members devoted to the improvement of civil trial practice. In that organization, he also served as Chairman of the Medical Malpractice Section. He is also a member, by invitation, of the Boyd-Grave Conference of the Virginia Bar Association, which promotes law reform throughout Virginia.
Mr. Hilton was born in North Carolina and is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute with high honors and distinction; and, Wake Forest University Law School.
