Wil Yamamoto serves as Counsel to the firm, representing energy and real estate developers, and other commercial clients, with complex transactions, commercial agreements, and obtaining approvals from Hawaii regulators.  Wil is particularly focused on helping national and Hawaii energy developers negotiate agreements and obtain the necessary approvals needed for advanced wind power, solar power, biofuels, and other alternative and traditional energy development projects. Wil was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© 2021 in the area of Administrative / Regulatory and Utilities Law.

Wil works with both major corporations and small businesses alike, adopting approaches that achieve client goals in practical and efficient ways.  Wil’s years of handling complex commercial litigation gives him an edge when dealing with thorny issues or advocating for clients before regulators in administrative proceedings.

Over the years, Wil has helped energy clients with development strategy and in dealings with Oahu’s electric utility and the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission.  He has also represented large real estate developers through a myriad of construction and development issues.

Licensed to practice in Hawaii and U.S. Territory of Guam, Wil was an attorney with the Honolulu law firms of McCorriston Miller Mukai MacKinnon LLP and Starn O’Toole Marcus & Fisher prior to joining Yamamoto Caliboso.
